Part of Film Action's Women's Film Initiative, INSPIRE is intended to provide young women with opportunities to explore filmmaking through documentary production. The model for the INSPIRE program is Film Action's successful Project Youth Doc program.

This documentary course features film production and role modeling by professional women filmmakers. The course is taught by female filmmakers and media educators. Students work in teams of three or four to plan, shoot and edit their projects using digital video equipment.

In spring 2006, Film Action partnered with St. Mary's Academy through a grant from the Faerie Godmother Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. The partnership continued through 2007. The program was met with such enthusiasm that St. Mary's Academy chose to continue the course as a regular part of its academic offerings.

Film Action is currently raising funds and seeking a new educational partner for the INSPIRE program.
