Yahoo Map |
The Hollywood Theatre is located at 4122 N.E. Sandy Blvd., just blocks away from the off-ramp from Interstate 84 in both directions.
The Theatre does not have its own parking lot. However, street parking is plentiful, free and unregulated after 6pm and on weekends. We also have an agreement with our friends at Broadway Medical Clinic to use their parking lots (approximately 100 spaces) when they are not open seeing patients (basically whenever we are showing movies). They are located on Broadway Street at the SE corner of the Theatre. Please do not park on the empty lot to the west of the Theatre. It is posted and you risk being towed!
The Theatre can be easily reached by mass transit, via MAX or bus 66x, 75, or 77 at the Hollywood Transit Center (just walk north two blocks). The number 12 bus drops you right at our front door.

| CONCESSIONS |
The Hollywood Theatre prides itself on its large selection of reasonably priced concession items. Our popcorn is popped fresh throughout the day and is rumored to be the best in Portland! We serve all of our soft drinks in 20oz recyclable bottles to reduce waste and to keep our auditoriums more tidy. We carry Ben & Jerry's ice cream and a wide range of candy including Red Vines, Junior Mints and M&Ms.
Because we want to make the Hollywood Theatre open to all ages at all times, we do not serve alcoholic beverages. We also do not serve hot dogs or nachos or pizza. If you want more than movie snacks, you might want to plan on eating before or after at one of the great restaurants in the Hollywood District.

| ACCESSIBILITY |
| The downstairs auditorium is wheelchair accessible. For information on wheelchair accessibility for a specific film or event, please call the Theatre office at 503-493-1128. When schedule allows, we are more than happy to switch auditoriums to accommodate all our patrons. |
| TICKET PRICES |
| Film Action works hard to keep its ticket prices affordable. Unless otherwise noted, admission is $6.50 for adults, $4.50 for seniors 65+ and children 4-12. Monday night all shows are just $4. Please know that only 50% of the organization's overall budget comes from box office revenues. We hope you will consider helping the Theatre through a charitable contribution or membership. Thanks for your support! |

| CINERAMA |

(Note: The Hollywood Theatre became a mecca for film-goers in the early 1960s when it became the only Cinerama theater in Oregon. Portions of the building - especially the frame of the massive curved screen in the downstairs auditorium - are a testament to that time.)
by Bruce Handy
The 1952 debut of Cinerama made headlines and dazzled audiences, who had never seen movies so big. Ten years later the unwieldy process was on its way to the scrap heap. Now a dedicated band of fanatics is fighting long odds to preserve the last remnants of the panoramic screen format - with the help of Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen. More... |
